The site is in a flat landscape with a lot of wind comming from all directions. The roadstop has nieches to sit in in three different directions so that one can choose where to sit according to the wind conditions and the pasing of the sun/midnight sun. At the Yokohama Triennale 2008, Akihisa Hirata’s experimental building, ‘house of houses’ extending from his concept ‘House T’, explores his interest in pitched-roof housing and the possibilities which this type of roof-style presents.

The presentation of the house also acts as one of the triennale’s general information centres for ‘Ienoie’ project steering committee.
